About Eric

Eric H. Tornfelt, Ed.D., is an educator, author, and thought partner with over 20 years of experience navigating the realities of American public education. A former Teacher of the Year in a large urban district, Eric has spent his career in classrooms, admin offices and colleges of education, but has always viewed his work through a broader lens.

In 2022, he published The Crumbling Schoolhouse: A Candid Look at American Education, a book that breaks the mold and puts into words what many educators think but don’t say out loud. The book reflects Eric’s core approach: honest and rooted in a deep belief that things can get better, when we’re willing to think differently.

Eric now uses that same mindset to help others move forward. He works with teachers, leaders, and creative professionals who feel stuck, burned out, or boxed in by systems that no longer fit. His goal isn’t to tear anything down, it’s to help people build what’s next: a new chapter, a new project, or a more aligned way of living and working.

He believes teachers are some of the most talented people on the planet and that with the right clarity, support, and perspective, they can do far more than survive the system. They can redesign their future.
